When we meet someone for the first time, we naturally form an impression.
Their clothing, tone of voice, behaviour—and their face.

All of these quietly speak to a person’s sense of dignity.
And as we enter midlife, that weight becomes even more profound.

For many years, I worked as a university and graduate admissions consultant.
I met countless students and parents up close,
and along the way, I mentored eight students who received
merit scholarships from Ivy League schools, Stanford, and MIT.
I witnessed their growth and celebrated their acceptance moments with them.
I was deeply devoted to my work.

Yet, while their dreams came true,
my own balance slowly collapsed.

Even though my husband is the director and physician of BMB MEDICAL,
I was always stingy when it came to caring for myself.
I became so absorbed in work that I was once labelled a “workaholic.”
I ignored the fatigue on my face and the exhaustion in my heart.

Neglecting even basic cleansing routines,
my skin grew rough, pores enlarged,
and the reflection in the mirror felt unfamiliar.

Before meetings or gatherings,
I tried to cover the signs of fatigue with luxury clothing.
But no matter how heavy the makeup,
dull skin and enlarged pores could not be hidden.
That realization weighed heavily on me,
slowly eroding my confidence and allowing sadness to creep in.

Then, the COVID pandemic brought the world to a halt.
Life’s focus returned to family—and to myself.
That was when I finally understood:
“Caring for myself is not a luxury; it is the beginning of dignity.”

I began drinking more water, cleansing my face with intention,
and promised myself at least one day of rest each week.
I faithfully applied the sunscreen my husband selected for me,
walked more, and moved my body daily.

As small habits accumulated,
my heart felt lighter,
and life quietly found its rhythm again.

Watching my husband sincerely care for his patients,
I finally understood why BMB MEDICAL has so many returning patients.

I started paying attention to what was happening around me.
Ordinary female patients—just like me—
were gradually transforming,
their skin becoming refined and radiant, reminiscent of actress Go Hyun-jung.

Around that time, I saw interviews with actresses Go Hyun-jung and Kim Sung-ryung.
Their skin seemed untouched by time, glowing with grace.
I thought to myself,
“Did their ancestors save a nation?
How else could they be blessed with such dignified beauty?”
Then another thought followed—
Was it already too late for me?

But what I saw on their faces was
a dignity that transcends time.

When I learned that Kim Sung-ryung had undergone
three sessions of Thermage FLX with 900 shots,
I finally decided:
“It’s time to take care of myself.”

My husband had been performing Thermage for over 20 years,
yet I had confined myself within invisible boundaries.

For the first time, I asked him for help.
“Please help me look like Kim Sung-ryung.”
His eyes widened in surprise.
I had never said anything like that before.

The day my daughter graduated from Columbia University,
I hid behind luxury brands—
but that wasn’t the answer.
All I saw in the mirror was sagging skin and visible pores.

So I chose change.
Thus began my
“Kim Sung-ryung Skin Project.”

Did things change?
Absolutely.

First, the results of Thermage FLX went beyond my skin.
My pores visibly tightened, my complexion brightened,
and elasticity and glow returned.
More importantly, my heart felt brighter.

Home care became joyful.
My skin felt firm, plump, and radiant again.

As my skin became refined, so did my thoughts.
A neat, refreshed face opened each day anew,
restoring confidence to my life.

This transformation extended to my daughter as well.
During her time at Harvard-Westlake School,
she struggled deeply with teenage acne.
Watching her cry in front of the mirror each morning,
I brought her to BMB MEDICAL.

As her skin cleared, her expression changed.
Her smile returned,
and with it, confidence—
brightening her school life.

That happiness continued during her years at Columbia University in New York.
Even from afar, I sent BMB MEDICAL’s Acne Lotion and Clean Wash every month via USPS.
Those products were more than skincare—
they were small promises filled with trust and love.

Through my daughter’s transformation, I learned once more:
Beauty does not begin on the surface, but with healing from within.
Even a small change in skin can renew a life.

Today, I believe this:

Cleanliness and refinement are the foundation.
Skin is the most honest first impression,
and beautiful skin is the quietest form of self-respect.

I now know that truly loving myself
and living a little more for me
is what real dignity means.

Happiness does not come from outside.
It begins with respecting oneself.
Only when we love ourselves
can others truly feel that love.

That realization became the light on my face,
the strength that grounds my days,
and the warmth that once again illuminates my life.
